Connie Allen, aka the Joyous Family Coach, inspires and guides both young people and the adults who love them to discover, nurture, and express their Inner Brilliance. With an M.A. in psychology and 15 years teaching children of all ages, she has coached parents and educators and empowered young people for more than 30 years. She is a credentialed teacher who taught for many years. She has always understood the importance of education in a child’s life and studied alternative approaches that supported a child’s joyous inner spirit. She co-founded two alternative schools, in which children were supported in being who they were. She also taught an undergraduate class on “The Psychology of Alternative Education”. She often worked with students who were considered “at risk”, loving and accepting their uniqueness and discovering how adults either limit or empower children through their interactions with them. Connie is the mother of her cherished son and the grandmother of two amazing grandchildren ages 10 and 7 with whom she shares many fulfilling, fun experiences.
